FOREWORD

Welcome to our web site!

The remedies that are described in following pages are not "miracle" cures or risky alternative therapies done over your doctor's objection, nor are they meanest to take the place of the advice and treatments prescribed by your health-care provider. Rather, they are safe, practical actions that you can take to help yourself with your own health care. They are designed to help you prevent, cope with, and/or treat more than 100 common health problems. They can save your money on health-care costs. They can help to keep you healthy, wealthy and wise.
As you read and as you take more responsibility for your own health care, keep the following important points in mind:
Remember that there are no doctor "secrets" in the following pages. All of the physicians and health-care providers openly and easily shared their recommendations without payment or promise. Discuss these ideas with your own doctor to see if he or she thinks these are valid for you. Use this knowledge to improve communication with your health-care providers. This following pages is loaded with practical ideas. Your doctor will be interested in your use of them.
Be careful of "self" diagnosis. Work with your doctor on your diagnosis. Even a doctor has a "fool for a patient" if he treats himself.
Don't try every remedy listed for your condition on every condition you have. Especially, don't put everything listed for your skin on your skin--you could end up with a new medication rash. Go slowly; use your common sense.
Heed the warnings included with the remedies. These warnings are carefully written to help you to avoid harm or quackery. Pay special attention to the tables labeled "Hello, Doctor?" These include special warnings and can help alert you to conditions and symptoms that required a doctor's attention.
The articles in the following pages has been carefully compiled. It contains information currently held to be true and helpful. As medicine and scientific experience grow, we may learn to do some things differently. Learn along with us. Continue to practice good, safe, self-help techniques based on scientific opinions and facts. Continue to maintain an open dialogue with your health-care providers. Continue to read, to ask questions, and to be an active, informed participant in your own health care. Hope with this little guides it's can help you to overcome your health problem.
